Funeral services for Chester Hult, Jr. will be held Saturday, June 14th at 10:30 a.m. at Komstad Covenant Church, rural Beresford, South Dakota. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00-8:00 p.m. at Wass Funeral Home in Centerville, SD with the family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Chester Wallace Hult, Jr. passed away June 11, 2008. Chester, the son of Chester and Luvilla (Wescott) Hult, Sr., was born March 1, 1927 in Clay County, South Dakota. Chester grew up in Centerville and attended Centerville schools, graduating in 1945. He enlisted in the US Army Air Force and spent one year in Germany. Chester was united in marriage to Delores Nelson on November 25, 1948 in Centerville. Chet farmed near Centerville for many years. Chet and Dee enjoyed their winter home in Mission, TX for 21 years. He had many hobbies including refinishing furniture and collecting clocks. Chet always looked forward to his children and grandchildren visiting at his farm. Chester was a member of Komstad Covenant where he attended all his life and served in many capacities. He was also a member of the Frank Holcombe American Legion Post 43 and the Centerville Coop where he served as chairman. Survivors include his wife, Delores; children, Jerry (Jan) Hult of Centerville, Jeannie (Tom) Ostrem of Madison and Jerome (Brenda) Hult of Davis; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Doug) Sikkink, Jeremy Hult, Jamey (Ashley) Hult, Jana (Leroy) Eilmes, Chad (Melissa) Ostrem, Kelli (Reed) Timmer, Haley , Heather and Heath Hult; and eight great-grandchildren. Chester was preceded in death by his parents.
