Carol attended Morning Star rural school for her early elementary grades and finished her education at Centerville Public School where she graduated with the class of 1945. Following graduation, she worked as a telephone operator until her marriage to Robert P. Neuroth on December 27, 1948. Upon retirement, she and her husband, Bob, took pleasure in several senior bus tours to New England, Nashville, the Southwest, New York City, and Washington, D.C. Carol attended the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Centerville where she sang in the choir, taught CCD, and participated in the Altar Society. For many years, she was a member of the Twentieth Century Women's Club, the Library Board in Centerville, and worked as a Democratic committee person at election time. Carol had a lifelong enjoyment of books and reading that she also instilled in her daughters. Her friends and the time she spent with them, whether shopping, at coffee, or just visiting were very important to her and gave her much pleasure. She and Bob also spent many evenings walking, an activity they both enjoyed.
