Carol Jean Frick was born on October 25th, 1946 in Hot Springs, SD, to Milford Bickett and Darlene (Hagen) Bickett. Carol passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Ava's House Hospice facility on May 30th, 2026.
Carol grew up in Beresford, SD where she graduated high school in 1964. She married the love of her life, Kendal Frick, on February 27, 1965. Ken and Carol moved to a farm south of Beresford where they began their career in farming and were blessed with 5 sons, Jon, Joey, Brian, Jason and Daniel.
Carol loved her family and cherished being a grandma, and most recently a great-grandma. One of her passions was exploring the mysteries of God, whom she loved very much. Carol enjoyed many Bible studies with others. She was a wonderful cook and also loved creating things, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She was very proud of her porcelain doll creations, and turned that hobby into a business, Dakota Dolls. She gained many friends over the years, teaching classes in her shop on the farm. Carol and Kenny cherished many trips, cruising with the Curry seed crew and visiting Aunt Marilyn in California. They also loved time on their boat, usually parked in the slip at Lewis and Clark marina, making friends wherever they went. After her boys were grown, Carol explored new jobs at Wells Fargo and Sanford where she enjoyed engaging with people, always with the goal of making them smile.
Carol is survived by her sons Jon (Jill), Brian (Heidi), Jason and Daniel (Tiffany). Eight grandchildren Kevin (Courtney), Brenna, Tyler, Kaden (Carly), Brody, Ben, Mason, Abigail and her great-granddaughter Ella. Siblings Steve (Pat) Bickett, Deborah Bickett Greg Bickett, Patti Bickett Wastell, and Brad Bickett.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Kendal, son Joseph, parents and brother Mark.
