Cameron Edward Larson was born at home in rural Beresford on May 26, 1924 to parents Minus and Esther (Edblom) Larson. He died May 2, 2011 at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 6 days. Cameron was baptized and confirmed at Komstad Covenant Church, where he was a life-long member. He attended Glenwood rural school and Beresford High School. On December 17, 1948 he married Lois Erickson at Roseni Lutheran Church. The couple made their home on the family farm southwest of Beresford where he engaged in farming until his retirement in1988. The couple moved to Beresford in 2004. Cameron was a member of the Glenwood School Board and held numerous positions at Komstad Church. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Lois of Beresford; 4 children: Renee' Munce and husband Roger of Sioux Falls, Harvey Larson and wife Wendy of Beresford, Diane Davidson and husband Dennis of Beresford, and Jane Bade and husband Sean of Sioux Falls; daughter-in-law Cheryl Larson of Sioux Falls; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers and 7 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, one sister and his son Wayne. Funeral services will be 2PM, Friday, May 6, 2011 at Komstad Covenant Church, rural Beresford, with burial at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4PM to 8PM with family present from 6PM to 8PM and a prayer service beginning at 7PM at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford. Cameron will be remembered by many for his quiet strength of character.
