Cameron attended Newdale rural school. He married Betty Holley on August 20, 1952. He served in the United States Army from December 9, 1952 to November 24, 1954 and was stationed in Okinawa. Cameron returned to Beresford and began his lifelong career as a farmer. He and Betty moved into town in 1985. Upon his retirement Cameron was promoted to Go For, which he did very well. When asked what he did today his reply was I just do what I am told, and sometimes not even that. Cameron was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, was a past member of Nazareth Lutheran Church where he served on the church council, and was currently a member of Dalesburg Lutheran Church. He was a member of the National Livestock Feeders Association and was a past chairman of the Clay County Livestock Feeders Association, the National Corn Growers Association, and served on the board of directors for the Coop Service Association. He was preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include his wife Betty Jensen of Beresford; three children: Kristal Dawn (Kristi) Kirkle and husband Mike of Lodi, CA, John Cameron Jensen and wife Shelley of Beresford and Jacqueline Jean (Jacki) Jensen-Roth and husband Mark of Woodbridge, CA; 7 grandchildren: Jill (Matthew) Murphy, Scott (Heather) Fitzgerald, Jennifer Kirkle, Amanda Kirkle, Lisa Zweifel, Stephanie Zweifel and Rachel Roth all of California; 7 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild expected soon; two brothers: Donald Jensen and wife Sharon of Mission, TX and Danny Jensen and wife Karen of Beresford; sister Mary Larson and husband Milford of Beresford; an uncle, Eldon Larson of Canova, SD and an aunt, Phoebe Selle of Sioux Falls; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 1:30PM, Friday, February 1, 2008 at Dalesburg Lutheran Church, rural Beresford, with burial at Rockfield Cemetery, rural Beresford. Visitation will be Thursday from 2PM to 8PM with family present from 6PM to 8PM with a prayer service at 7PM at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford.
