Caleb Matthew Lyle was born June 15, 1989 in Sioux Falls, SD to parents Luke and Susan (Sharp) Lyle and died Friday, January 9, 2015 in Minneapolis, MN at the age of 25. He was interested in drawing and making clay models when he was younger and fishing and hunting in his teenage years with his brother, Nick. He enjoyed video games and shared a passion for reading with his sister, Victoria. He frequently quizzed his sister, Serena, about boyfriends and was eager to give her advice about them. He had great times with his brother, Trent, at the shooting range and always spent time on weekends playing games with his youngest siblings, Chase, Marshall and MacKenzie. Caleb was home-schooled until finishing the 6th grade; the next fall he skipped the 7th grade and enrolled in the 8th grade at Beresford Public School and graduated in 2007. He attended SDSU before transferring to USD to study accounting. While there he spent many hours one semester as CEO of the Coyoteopoly Corporation that strives to provide charitable work in the Vermillion area. After graduating Caleb began working for Ernst & Young Accounting in Minneapolis as an accountant and continued studying until he passed the CPA examination. He was working at Ernst & Young until his death. He is survived by his father, Luke Lyle of Alcester; mother, Susan Lyle of Beresford; siblings, Nick (Julia) of Sioux Falls, Serena of Dayton, IA, Trent, Victoria, Chase, Marshall and MacKenzie all of Beresford; his paternal grandmother, Patricia Lyle of Beresford; maternal grandparents, Bob (Mary) Sharp of Rapid City; and many, many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his longtime friend, Michael Pedersen of Alcester. His paternal grandfather, William Lyle preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 10AM Friday, January 16, 2015 at Brooklyn Evangelical Free Church in rural Beresford with burial to follow at Garryowen Cemetery. A prayer service will be at 7PM Thursday, Jan. 15th, at the church with the family present from 5-7PM.
