Burdette Edward Lindblom was born September 20, 1932 in rural Beresford, SD to parents Erick and Effie (Hedeen) Lindblom. He went to Glory while sleeping on August 14, 2007 at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 14 days. Burdette attended rural school in the Beresford area and attended Wakonda High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Mayer, on April 6, 1952. The couple lived and farmed in rural Wakonda until 1979 when the moved to Vermillion. They semi-retired in 1985 and moved to Arizona and resided there until May of 2006 when they moved to Sioux Falls, SD. Burdette was working for Hy-Vee at the time of his death. Burdette was a member of Dalesburg Baptist Church and Gideons International. He was preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include his wife Marilyn of Sioux Falls; 5 children: Gayle Williams and husband Shawn of Cornville, AZ, Murray Lindblom and wife Genie of Wakonda, SD, Wayne Lindblom and wife Christine of Akron, OH, Lea Cody and husband James of Mancos, CO and Dorothy Baxter and husband William of Sioux Fall, SD; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; 3 sisters: Helen (Richard) White and Betty (Neil) Crance all of Eugene, OR and Norma Empy of Eagle River, Alaska; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM, Friday, August 17 at Dalesburg Baptist Church, rural Beresford, SD.
