Brian (Hogger) Lounsbery was born on October 11, 1970 to Gary and Karen (Lass) Lounsbery. He died August 11, 2024 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls after his battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 53 years and 10 months old.

Brian was raised on the family farm in Beresford, SD and graduated from Beresford High School in 1989. He graduated from South Dakota State University with his Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1994.

In 1992, Brian began his 20-year career with Walgreens as a pharmacy intern in Phoenix, AZ. He then moved to Littleton, CO in 1996 before returning to South Dakota in 1999. He continued with Walgreens as a District Manager until 2012 where he then took over as a staff pharmacist at the Avera Specialty Pharmacy. He eventually moved into his role as the Director of Specialty Pharmacy. He also served on the Avera Mission Leadership team for several years.

Brian was united in marriage to his soulmate, Mindy Voss, on February 14, 2022. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family at the lake.

He was an avid fan of all sports, with a particular love for Minnesota Vikings and Nebraska Cornhusker football. While at SDSU, Brian pledged to Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity and served as the social chair alongside several of his best friends. This coming September, Brian and the rest of the 1987 Beresford state champion football team (sanctioned) will be inducted into the Watchdogs Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his wife, Mindy; daughters, Michelle (Grant Syverstad) Lounsbery of Sioux Falls, SD and MaKenzie (Curtis) Traversie of Isabel, SD; son, Nicholas Lounsbery of Sioux Falls, SD; and sisters Ann (Kenneth) Allender of Sioux Falls, SD and Julie (Diann Grupe) Lounsbery of Peoria, AZ; brother Dr. Mark (Michelle) Lounsbery of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters-in-law Brenda (Brian) Tyrrell of Garretson, SD, Lyn (Mark) Reekers of Hospers, IA, and JoLee DeNunzio of Henderson, NV; brother-in-law Clark (Sonja) Muhlenkort of Sioux Falls, SD; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents.
