Obituary

Bradley Forrest Clay was born June 23, 1958 in Flandreau, South Dakota to George and Roberta (Ullom) Clay. He died October 10, 2018 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 60 years.

Brad was raised and attended school with his two sisters and his brother in Flandreau before the family moved to Beresford where he graduated from high school. He attended Hawkeye Technical School in Waterloo, Iowa for auto mechanics. Brad returned to South Dakota where he worked as a mechanic in Centerville and Worthing. He married Judy Jacobs October 8, 1994 at Skrefsrud Lutheran Church in rural Beresford. Brad worked at Tendaire Industries in Beresford prior to starting at Native Lumber in Worthing. He began his own sawmill business, Clay's Custom Sawing, in Worthing that he operated until recently due to his health.

He was a volunteer firefighter in Worthing for many years and enjoyed dart league. Brad also liked shooting, be it a rifle, shotgun, handgun or a blow dart gun. He liked to target practice and to sometimes get rid of a pesky rabbit.

Grateful for having shared his life is his wife of 24 years, Judy; two daughters, Taylor and Shannon all of Worthing; two sisters, Carol (Dave) Evans of Gladstone, MI and Cheryl Panther of Hudson, IA; his mother, Roberta Wagner of Phoenix, AZ; nieces and nephews, Melissa Asselin, Pat Grandchamp, Rob Panther and Bethany Panther. His father, George, and brother, Dale Clay preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Brad will be held at 2PM Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with Rev. Jarrod Hylden officiating. Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
