Beverly J. Paulson was born Feb. 25, 1930 to Olaf & Adelaide (Norgren) Paulson. She was baptized and confirmed at Komstad Covenant Church. She and Vernon B. Andersen were married at that church March 10, 1951. They have four sons – Lee, Gary, Gordon and Craig.
Beverly graduated from Ash Creek school and Centerville High School. She attended SDSU for 1 ½ years. She then worked in Sioux Falls until they married.
She liked school. She was in band, pep squad, chorus and class president. She was valedictorian of her class, and she was the homecoming queen. She attended the first girls state.
She was excellent at everything she did. Being a homemaker, mother, and wife were the most important things in her life. She raised four boys and a husband. She loved her friends.
She liked to have large dinner parties. The extra work was nothing. Her pies – apple, peach and banana cream were the best. The hot cinnamon and caramel rolls were a real treat. Also, the couple liked to dance. They went to the Arkota Ballroom in Sioux Falls on Wednesday evenings for years and danced with the Danish folk dancers from Viborg until they stopped – it was great fun. She helped with sorting and loading hogs, moving cattle and mowing the lawn. In the summer she loved gardening, and raised many beautiful flowers.
She worked at the Bank of Centerville for twenty years. Retired and moved to Centerville in 1992.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, The Ladies' Aid, Friendly Few Extension Club, Ivy Chapter #25 and Juno #44, Order of the Eastern Star.
Beverly is survived by Vernon, Lee and Cheryl of Sioux Falls, Gary and Debbie, Gordon and Kelly, Craig and Gail all of Centerville, 10 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grand Children.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters Rosalie Holm, Corinne Engstrom, and Marjorie Seiler, and a daughter-in-law Ranae (Oakland) Andersen.
