Betty Lou Lawrenson, 95, passed away July 4, 2018 at Bethesda of Beresford.  Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford, SD.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, one hour prior to services.

Betty Lou Wilcox was born February 16, 1923 in Canton SD, to Claude and Agnes (Scott) Wilcox, the fourth of five daughters.  She graduated from Canton High School in 1941.  She married Martin Lawrenson on August 31, 1942 and they were blessed with four children, Mary Pat, Glen, Gale and Greg.

Betty Lou was an artist.  She enjoyed sketching, coloring and painting and would festively paint the windows at Bethesda for the holidays.  She was a true-blue animal lover and would take in and rescue any dog, cat or bird.

Betty Lou is survived by her children, Mary Pat Cramer of Oakville, WA, Glen (Deb) Lawrenson of Beresford, Gale (Ron) Olsen of Beresford and Greg (Rhonda) Lawrenson of Joliet, IL; 8 grandchildren, Dana (Jan) Safranek, Michael (Amy) Olsen, David (Dana) Olsen, Bradley (Tami) Olsen, Tina (Mike) Kastler, Amy Lawrenson (Lyle Vogel), Nathan Lawrenson and  Melissa Lawrenson; 11 great-grandchildren, Isaac, Kevin (Leslie), Taylor, Logan (Tina), Kayla, Britany (Christian), Karl, Jeffrey, Madison, Katana and David; and 4 great-great-grandchildren, Paige, Jake, Percy and Ronnie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; her parents; and her sisters, Lorraine, Dorthy, Marjorie, and Nancy.
