Barry Lee Cotton was born January 11, 1947 in Yankton, SD to parents Daniel and Edna (Johansen) Cotton. He died February 14, 2017 in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 70 years, 1 month and 3 days.

Barry graduated from Beresford High School in 1965 and went on to earn his Teaching Degree from Southern State College in Springfield. He married Linda Basche on July 16, 1967 in Sioux Falls. Barry taught at Southeastern Vo-Tech for 2 years and then began his career at Cotton Chevrolet where he worked until his retirement. Barry was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church where he was a lifelong member. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and many other outdoor activities, including racing snowmobiles.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Cotton. He is survived by his wife Linda Cotton, Beresford; son Brad Cotton, Beresford; 2 grandchildren, Caden and Avrie; his mother Edna Cotton, Beresford; his sister Jane Smith; two brothers, Tom Cotton and Brian Cotton; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 17, 2017 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Beresford, SD. Visitation will be Thursday from 5PM to 7PM at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford.
