Arlene June Conlon, age 89, of Beresford, SD went home to meet her Savior Monday, March 28, 2011, surrounded by her family, while visiting her sons home in rural Dakota City, NE. Funeral services will be 11AM Friday, April 1,2011 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford, SD. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arlene was born July 27, 1921 in Jackson, MN to parents Drew and Mae (Dan) Bute. She graduated from high school. Arlene married Ray C. Conlon July 4, 1955 in Los Angeles, CA. She was a missionary from 1958 until 1963 in Lae, New Guinea.

Arlene was happiest in taking care of her family and loved ones. Her family meant everything to her. She loved to travel, reading cookbooks and to cook. She was presently teaching her grandson, Christopher, to bake. She found good in all people. Arlene will be truly missed.

Survivors include her son, Mark and his wife Patricia Berger Conlon of rural Dakota City, NE; sister, Betty Bocock of Minneapolis, MN; three grandchildren, Mark Jr. of Sioux City, IA, Corey of Tucson, AZ and Christopher of Dakota City, NE; and two great-granddaughters, Christina and Monica.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray, on June 14, 2008, and her brothers.
