Ardis Elaine Jensen was born November 8, 1923 in rural Beresford, SD to parents Melvin and Hanna (Johnson) Ende. She died February 22, 2015 at Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford, SD at the age of 91 years, three months and fourteen days. Ardis attended rural school and Beresford High School. During WWII she worked at a factory in Boston, Mass. On December 7, 1951 Ardis married Gail Jensen. The couple lived and farmed north of Beresford. Gail passed away April 24, 2011. Ardis continued to live on the farm until 2011 when she moved to the Bethesda Home. Ardis was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was currently a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford. She was a member of the Beresford VFW Auxiliary for over 62 years and had held many offices for over the years. Her hobbies and interests included cooking, taking care of her pets, entertaining visitors in her home and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her daughter Gail Snoozy, Beresford; son Curtis (Marvel) Jensen, Beresford; 6 grandchildren, Connie Wastell, Cindy (Gene) Nordquist, Hilary Jensen, Jessica Waterman, Hannah Jensen and Jenna (John) Manson; 12 great grandchildren, Kole, Keegan and Kyle Nordquist, Nathan Wastell, Melissa Surette, Faith and Kayden Jensen, Traesean Williams, Roman and Ava Waterman, Autumn Glasscock and Elaina Manson; great, great granddaughter Zinnia Surette; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, great grandson Adam, a brother Kenneth in infancy and her sister Betty Pedersen. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford with burial to follow at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Beresford. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4PM to 8PM with family present from 6PM to 8PM with a prayer service at 7PM at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford.
