Annadell J. Norling, 86, passed away after a short illness, on September 26, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard, SD.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 30 at Scandia Lutheran Church in Centerville, SD.   Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 29 at Wass Funeral Home in Centerville, SD.

Annadell Austin was born July 18, 1935 in Turner County, SD to parents, Everett and Elsie (Johnson) Austin.  She grew up in the Centerville area where she attended District 57 country school and graduated from Centerville High School in 1953.  She received her Bachelor's Degree from General Beadle (now Dakota State College) in Madison and then received her Masters of Education Degree from USD.  Annadell married Richard "Dick" Norling and they resided on a farm in rural Beresford their entire married lives.

Annadell was a beloved teacher at several country schools, Irene Elementary and Centerville Elementary.  Later, she became the Centerville Elementary Principal for several years.  Following "retirement" she tutored students who needed her.

Annadell was raised and confirmed at Scandia Lutheran Church.  Later in life, she shared her faith and her teaching talents with the Scandia youth by teaching Vacation Bible School, confirmation and directing the Christmas programs.   She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, and crocheting.  She loved spending time with her beloved family and looked forward to attending their sporting and church events.

Annadell is survived by her sister, Audry Poppenga, Lennox, SD; sisters-in-law, Marion Neuroth, Beresford, SD and Donna Austin, Centerville, SD; and many beloved nieces, nephews, relative and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; and her siblings, Lester Austin, Howard Austin, Ronnie Austin, Beverly Ludeman and Russell Austin.
