Altie Marie Rasmussen was born March 5, 1952 in Canton, South Dakota to Homer and Vera (Sorenson) Ulrickson. She died unexpectedly October 21, 2018 at her home in rural Hudson, SD at the age of 66 years.

Altie was raised and educated near Canton. Following her graduation from Augustana Academy she attended Nettleton College in Sioux Falls. Altie married Norman Rasmussen on September 16, 1971. They made their life on their farm where they raised their two children.

She was an active member of Romsdal Lutheran Church and liked to sing in the choir. Altie enjoyed being outside, raising flowers, gardening, mowing the yard or helping Norman. She was a people person with a happy soul and loved to laugh and visit.

Grateful for sharing her life are her husband of 47 years, Norman Rasmussen; daughter, Tina (Brent) Hepner of Beresford; son, Tyler (Rachel) Rasmussen of Beresford; six granddaughters, Hannah, Olivia, Emma, Myah, Nora and Grace; sister, Helen (Rick) Paetow of Sioux Falls; brother, Gregg (Wendy) Ulrickson of Canton; mother-in-law, Yvonne Rasmussen and brother-in-law, Donald (Beth) Rasmussen all of Beresford. Her parents and her father-in-law, Dewey Rasmussen, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held 10AM Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Romsdal Lutheran Church, rural Beresford. Visitation will be 4-8PM Tuesday, October 23rd at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with the family present from 6-8PM and a prayer service at 7PM.
