Obituary

Mary Alma (Gibson) Lundberg, 94, went to be with her Lord on March 17, 2006. Alma Lundberg was born to Elsie Mae (Morrison) and Henry Wead Gibson on September 22, 1911 in Gracin Springs, KY. She married Benjamin Ernest Lundberg on May 29, 1938 at Ireton, IA. She lived on the Lundberg homestead with her husband until they moved into Alcester in 1970. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1972. Alma was active in her church, Big Springs Baptist. She was a leader in Crusaders, and taught womens and adult Sunday school classes. She was active in Bible studies, womens missionary circles, and quilted many quilts for missions. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, embroidering, crocheting, gardening and reading. When she had a spare moment she spent it reading her Bible. Her children and grandchildren will miss their prayer warrior and her prayers. Survivors are three Lundberg sons: Lloyd and wife Connie of Alcester, Merle and wife Judy of Hawarden, IA, and Lawrence and wife Linda of Alcester; four daughters: Evelyn Cunningham and husband Vernon of Battle Ground, WA, Carol Nelson and husband Robert of Beresford; Mildred Oines and husband Roger of Brookings and Lavonne Linnell and husband Gene of Minneapolis, MN; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Those going on to be with the Lord before her besides her husband were her parents, her brother, her sister and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 1PM, Monday, March 20, 2006 at Big Springs Baptist Church, rural Alcester, SD with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5PM to 8PM with family present from 7PM to 8PM at the church.
