Alfred Henry Herrboldt earned his angel wings peacefully at the Alcester Care & Rehab Center on December 6, 2024.

Alfred was born October 15, 1927 to John and Emma (Neu) Herrboldt on the family farm near Menno, SD. Alfred was united in marriage to Nona Walker the love of his life on July 27, 1951. From this union they were blessed with four children: Rodney, Michael, Colleen and Tina. Alfred served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Belle Grove (LSD-2). He was an active member of the Bergstrom-Bodeen Post 128 in Hudson, SD. Alfred loved all his grandchildren: Tim, Kayla, Danie, Katie, Sarah, Julia, Josh and Robert and his great-grandchildren of which there are 10, and his many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed farming, trucking, attending church, and coffee time downtown.

Alfred is survived by one brother, Alton (Myrna) Herrboldt of Menno; one sister-in-law, Noma (Jack) Sayler of Rapid City; his four children, Rod (Karla) of Bakersfield, CA, Mike (Sandy) of Gray, TN, Colleen (Chuck) Green of Alcester, and Tina Rollings of Alcester; an adopted daughter by heart, Mary (Tony) Albert of Medford, OR; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, loving relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death is his loving wife, Nona of almost 70 years; his parents, John and Emma; two brothers, Leon and Eugene; two sisters, Bertha and Darlene; and father and mother-in-law, Georg and Erma Walker.
