Funeral services for Agnes Lyckholm will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 at Dalesburg Lutheran Church, rural Beresford. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford on Sunday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Agnes Evelyn Anderson Lyckholm was born July 29, 1912 in Clay County, South Dakota to August N. and Jennie L. (Jermundson) Anderson. She died in Sioux Falls, SD September 16, 2008 at the age of 96 years, one month and 17 days.
Agnes grew up in the Dalesburg area and attended country school. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On December 16, 1933 she married Arnold Lyckholm. They moved to California early in the marriage and both worked in the shipyards before he was drafted. Agnes then worked for Dow and Chevrolet to be near Arnie. Following the war they returned to Dalesburg where they farmed for many years.
Agnes was active in church organizations at Dalesburg Lutheran Church and with the Clay County Extension. Arnie died June of 1975. Agnes moved into Beresford in 1998 and to Bethesda of Beresford in October of 2007.
Survivors include a special friend, Rudy Anderson of Beresford; several nieces and nephews including, Barbara (James) Driessen, Harvey (Vicki) Olson, Patricia Jacobs and Joyce Leach and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her parents, husband, three brothers, Milo, Vernon and Reuben; sister, Martha and infant sister, Darlene preceded her in death.
The family requests memorials to the Ladies Aid at Dalesburg Lutheran Church.
