Adam Steven Hughes 34, was born May 23, 1992 in Sioux Center, IA. He graduated from Alcester-Hudson in 2011 and Mitchell VoTech with a degree in Wind Turbine Technology.

Adam married Jessica Wegh on January 14, 2017.

Adam was the most content being in the backwoods geocaching, hiking and tenting off-grid. He would also enjoy golfing, downhill skiing and had a valued collection of Legos. Woodworking was also a talent he rapidly mastered. He was a man of few words but with a quick wit. He was presently employed with VIKOR in Rapid City.

Adam passed on October 21, 2026.

He is survived by his sister Tricia (Jonah) Leia & Eli King of Lincoln, NE; his parents Steve & Belva, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 24th from 10-11AM at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City with a time of sharing at 11AM. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 25th from 2-3PM at Wass Funeral Home in Alcester, SD with a time of sharing at 3PM.

Adam, we hope you have found the kindness, laughter and friendship you shared with so many. We are deeply appreciative of the Class of 2011 for all they have done to honor his memory.

Private interment will be in Alcester, SD at a later date. Forever in our hearts.
