Life Legacy

Vickie Marie Knutson was born on April 26, 1955, the daughter of Guy and Jennie (Joesting) Lines. She went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 17, 2012.

Vickie grew up in Charles City, Iowa on the family farm. Following high school graduation she worked as a legal secretary in Charles City. She later attended Sioux Falls College and then worked as a legal secretary at the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Most recently, Vickie worked in the business office of Pioneer Memorial Hospital and Health Services in Viborg, SD.

Vickie married Dale Knutson on October 26, 1984. Together they raised two children, Shannon and Justin, on the family farm outside of Centerville, SD.

Vickie was a member of Immanuel Free Lutheran Church and the Gideon Auxiliary. She enjoyed participating in book clubs, the Centerville Arts Council, and neighborhood Bible studies. Most of all, she treasured spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter.

Grateful to have shared her life are her husband Dale, her children Shannon (Richard Merkouris) and Justin, her father and mother-in-law Willard and Betty Knutson, her brother and sister-in-law Dean and Julie Knutson, her sister-in-law Pam Lines, her loving nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Michael (in infancy) and Steven.
